The Colorado Plateau between Pages and Escalante

Although not all areas of the Colorado plateau are National Parks, there are many intersting and fascinating things to see, like the Upper Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley, Natural Bride National Monument and Kodachrom Basin State Park.

Natural Bride National Monument in Utha is not only worth a visit because of the nice landscape and the huge brigdes formed by water, it its also very remote and therefore you can enjoy a very dark night sky. This place is Americas first Dark Sky Park.

Upper Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe bend in the vicinity of the city of Page are world famous and a must see for tourists and photographers visiting this area. Even if you are visiting the Grand Canyon it is worth to take the 3-4 hour drive to page.

Kodachrom Basin is - although not very popular - a nice place to be at Sunset or sunrise, as the red colored sandstone rocks begin to glow. Travelers planning to go to famous Bryce Canyon should think about extending their visit to this nice State Park which is just one hour driving from Bryce Canyon.
